Privacy Policy

Effective 27 July 2026

This policy explains what McNeil Labs LLC ("McNeil Labs", "we", "us") collects, what we do with it, and the choices you have. It covers the McNeil Labs website at mcneillabs.com and our software, including HopHub. We've tried to keep it plain and specific.

What we collect

  • Account information. When you create a HopHub account, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name. Accounts are handled through Firebase Authentication.
  • The content you create. HopHub is a collaborative canvas. The boards you build — nodes, notes, board structure, and any terminal scrollback you choose to sync — are stored so they persist and sync across your devices and collaborators. This content lives in Google Firestore/Firebase, hosted on our behalf.
  • Basic technical logs. Like most software, our services generate operational logs (for example, timestamps, error reports, and coarse request data) that help us keep things running and secure.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • We do not run third-party advertising or share your data with advertisers.
  • This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking of any kind. It is plain static pages with no third-party scripts.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate:

  • Google Firebase — authentication, database (Firestore), and storage. Your account and board content are processed and stored on Google Cloud infrastructure on our behalf.
  • Stripe — payment processing for paid products. Stripe handles card details directly; we never see or store full card numbers.
  • GitHub — our software downloads and updates are served from GitHub releases, so requesting a download involves GitHub.

These providers process data under their own terms and only to provide their service to us.

Collaboration

HopHub boards can be shared. Any content you place on a shared board is visible to the other members of that board. Share deliberately, and only invite people you intend to give access.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@mcneillabs.com. We will delete your data within a reasonable period, except for records we are required to keep — for example, transaction and tax records tied to a purchase.

Security

We protect data in transit with encryption and use access controls to limit who and what can reach it. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.

Children

Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, your local privacy laws may grant you additional rights over your personal data. To exercise any such rights, email us at hello@mcneillabs.com and we'll help.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version here and update the effective date above; for material changes we will provide reasonable notice through the website.
